Jillian Jensen is 18 years old and looking forward to her senior year at Northridge High School starting this fall. Adopted from Russia at 21 months old, it was evident immediately that she was fearless and full of curiosity—not sleeping a wink on the 14-hour flight home! Jillian has a keepsake where her first-grade classmates describe her as sweet, caring, nice, funny, silly, kind, helpful, hard working and determined, but most importantly as loving God. All of things remain true today.
Jillian discovered her passion for sports her freshman year of high school when she joined both Unified Bowling and Basketball. Jillian was part of the Northridge Unified Bowling team that went to State her sophomore and junior year—taking 5th place both years. She is determined to return to State as a senior and has her eye on 1st place. Jillian’s personal goal is to bowl a 200. Her personal best is 181, so she is getting close to reaching that goal.
Despite challenges she faces from learning and processing information differently from typical students, Jillian loves school, challenges herself to get good grades, is a proud member of National Honor Society and will serve on the Youth Activation Committee for Special Olympics this year. Her long-term goal is to be a special education paraprofessional.
Outside of school Jillian bowls in a junior league, plays basketball and softball in the summer, and is active in the youth group at Mountain View Church. She loves spending time with her friends and is always ready to host a party!
