“Where there’s a ‘Will’, there’s a way!”

Will, 18, is not one to back down from a challenge. Whether it’s zip-lining at summer camp or trying to beat his sisters in Scattergories, Will brings his can-do spirit and matter-of-fact perspective to everything his does.

Will was a part of the first graduating class at Timnath Middle High School, where he enjoyed playing Unified Basketball and Football, working at the Coffee Cave, and zooming down the halls. He will attend Front Range Community College in the fall, studying Forestry, Wildlife & Natural Resources. Will hopes to put his passion for animals (bears are his favorite) to use in the future.

Will loves watching The Simpsons and Big Bang Theory. He also enjoys spending time with his family and friends, going to museums and zoos, and playing trivia and board games. He is also active with his youth group at First United Methodist Church in Fort Collins. Will is known for his funny T-shirts, crazy socks, and loves a good costume/theme day.

With the diagnosis of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, Will faces lots of obstacles: navigating a world that is not always accessible, weekly infusions and therapies, and countless medical appointments and procedures. Living with a progressive disease means constantly evaluating what independence looks like for him. Will’s faith and strength of character help him take all of the challenges in stride, while his bravery and determination inspire those around him. But it’s his quick wit, curiosity, and sense of adventure that truly embody living life to the fullest.
