Anderson Voelker
Hometown: Windsor, Colorado
Age: 6 years old
Anderson Voelker is an adorable and talkative 6-year-old that graduated kindergarten this past May. He captures the hearts of everyone that gets to know him with his funny personality, his infectious laugh and his funny faces. Anderson lives in Severance, Colorado with his big sister, Samantha, and his parents Philip and Kerri Voelker.
Anderson has a huge passion for learning about different kinds of elevators and garage doors as well as how they work, and he loves to share his knowledge with others. His 6th birthday party was spent at the Embassy Suites riding their elevators and Santa even brought him his own elevator panel with working buttons for Christmas last year! Anderson also likes to swim, ride his motorized car, jump on the trampoline, watch elevator and garage door videos on YouTube.
Anderson was diagnosed with Autism level 2 at age 3 after several indicators showing since age 1. Because of his early diagnosis, Anderson was able to start ABA, Speech, Music, Equine, Occupational and Physical therapies right away. He was also able to participate in 2.5 years of preschool. This has allowed him to become the confident, funny, caring, and talkative kid that he is today. He loves school and has gone from needing full-time assistance to being in the traditional classroom 75% of the time where he is actively participating in the lessons as well as engaging with his classmates. It’s been amazing to watch him grow as an individual and we can’t wait to see what a bright future he has ahead of him.
